Book Donations

We need your gently used books! Please consider donating your books to the Friends! You might also have memorabilia that needs a new home. We gladly accept those as donations.

HOW, WHERE, WHEN, WHAT, AND WHY!

WHY!

All proceeds from Book Sales go directly to support the Los Gatos Library.  The Friends support Library programs for adults and children, as well as offering funds for on-going technical and staff needs.  Your donations are tax deductible and donation receipts are available. The Friends are committed to the preservation of books. The Library has first choice of all donated books to add to the collection. Those we are unable to sell are donated to other non-profits and charities.  Damaged books and outdated textbooks and manuals are recycled.

HOW:

Please bring your donations directly to the Los Gatos Library during Library hours. You can drop off small donations at the Circulation Desk in the Lobby.  If you have a large donation, let the Library Clerks at the Circulation Desk know, and they will direct you to the side entrance, where carts are available.  You can also call the Friends office at (408)399-5700 to arrange a time for drop off so that volunteers will be there to assist you.  Because of space constraints, we accept a maximum of 10 boxes of books at a time. Please break donations larger than 10 boxes into smaller donations and deliver these to us over a period of days.
